La Doga Gourmet - Fiera di Primiero

Restaurant Website and Digital Menu
La Doga Gourmet

La Doga Gourmet is a restaurant, pizzeria, pub and wine bar in the centre of Fiera di Primiero: one venue with several identities and multiple menus to manage.

The website is built around the menus: they can be updated from a single dashboard and turned into print-ready PDFs with one click, featuring a dynamic QR code that links to the website, where the menus are available in multiple languages.

The Initial Situation

Multiple Menus, Multiple Languages, All Managed Manually

La Doga Gourmet brings together gourmet cuisine, pizza, a wine bar and a pub serving craft beers. Each offering has its own menu, and in a tourist destination like Primiero, these menus also need to be available in English, German and French.

The venue had no website: menus existed only on paper, written and laid out using a word processor. Changing a dish or a price meant finding the right place in the document, editing it and then fixing everything else: a sentence that no longer fitted on the page, a font in the wrong size, a translation that needed updating.

It was a slow process, and it was easy to overlook something, such as an item updated in Italian but left unchanged in the other languages.

There was no online destination where customers could find the menus, nor a way to update them while focusing on what to write rather than how to make it fit on the page.

"Every time I changed a dish, I had to redo the menu and check it line by line in every language."

The Goal

Centralising Menu Management

The goal was to create a single place to manage all the menus. Given how the venue operates, how many menus it has and how frequently they change, every edit needed to update both the website and the printable PDFs, with no extra steps.

For each menu item, including its translations, I wanted a single editing page, with all languages visible at once whenever a dish or price was changed.

Whoever managed the menus should only have to focus on the content — dishes, descriptions and prices — while the system took care of the layout for both the online menus and the PDFs.

Finally, the website needed to become the venue's online point of reference: a place where customers could browse the menus on their smartphones, whether they arrived through Google or the QR code printed on the menus.

The Solution

A Single System for Managing Digital and Printed Menus

I developed a custom menu management system integrated into the website. Each menu item can be edited on a single page, including its translations, and every change is reflected both online and in the printed menus.

The menus on the website are available in Italian, English, German and French, each displayed in the reader's chosen language and designed primarily for smartphones.

With one click, the system generates print-ready PDFs: the restaurant menu and wine list are multilingual, while the pizzeria menu generates a separate file for each language. The layout remains consistent, with no manual adjustments needed.

Every printed menu features a dynamic QR code linking to the website. Its destination can be changed at any time, for example to point to a seasonal menu or an event page, without having to reprint anything.

Menus updated from a single place
Every change, including translations, is made just once and applies to both the website and the PDFs.
Print-ready PDFs in one click
The restaurant menus, pizza menus and wine list are automatically laid out and ready to use, with no manual adjustments needed.
Dynamic QR codes on printed menus
The QR code destination can be changed at any time, without having to replace table displays or reprint menus.
Online menus in four languages
Italian, English, German and French, accessible on smartphones by scanning the QR code or via Google.
A previously missing online presence
The restaurant now has its own website with menus, information and contact details, where people can find it through Google.
